Beginning Thursday, September 2, 2010, the South entry gate to the back parking lot on Empire Street will be closed at 7:55 A.M. This is our normal school year procedure. If the South gate is closed, please proceed to the front of the school on Ball Road, park your car, and escort your child to the office (for obvious reasons, absolutely NO double parking is permitted on Ball Road).
There is no parking or drop off in the church's small parking lot on the corner of Ball and Empire.
Every Thursday is street sweeping day between 8:00 A.M. and Noon. Be on time, don't risk a ticket!

Beginning Monday, September 13, 2010 tardy slips will be issued to students who arrive at school at 8:00 A.M. or later. We operate by the school clocks for tardies, so please synchronize your clock with ours. Students must be present in the classroom before the tardy bell in order to be considered on time. Again, if the back South entry gate is already closed, proceed to the front of the school on Ball Road, park your car, and escort your child to the office to sign him/her in.
For a complete explanation of morning carpool procedure, please see the appendix of your Parent-Student Handbook.
If your child accumulates three (3) tardies in a quarter, he/she is issued a detention. Every new quar
ter, his/her slate is wiped clean. |

As we begin another school year, parents, students, and educators face the same three questions: “Where did the summer go?” “What does the new year hold?” and “How long until Christmas vacation?”
On behalf of Bishop Tod Brown, Father Gerald Horan, Vicar of Faith Formation and Mrs, Sally Todd, Associate Superintendent, I want to welcome you all to the 2010 – 2011 school year and wish your students every success and blessing of the coming year. We recognize the sacrifices so many of you make to provide this opportunity for your children, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us. As primary educators, you have a profound impact on your student’s formation through your choice of school and your involvement in their lives. We know that by working together we can provide a “value-added” education for your daughters and sons.
One of these values is our excellent staff and faculty across our K-12 school system. From school administration, to classroom teachers and aides, to support staff, these women and men are united in their dedication to the mission of Catholic education and desire to provide your students with the best academic preparation. Through the WCEA/WASC accreditation process, all of our schools continually review, revise, and improve their programs and services to provide the most effective instruction for the 21st Century student. In partnership, you as parents can help your student by your awareness of what they are doing in classes and by encouraging them to show responsibility and integrity in completing assignments. All schools provide assistance in various forms to students experiencing academic difficulty. Parents should be aware of these opportunities and encourage students to take advantage of them if needed. Working together we will help your children discover their gifts and realize their greatest potential.

A Message from the Principal:
As a parish school, St. Justin Martyr Parish School offers an outstanding Catholic education to students from kindergarten through eighth grade. We are now the only coed Catholic elementary school in Anaheim. Wonderful things are happening at our school. We were selected by the Shea Foundation to receive, at no cost to us, major renovations for the upcoming school year. We are in our fourth year of a strategic plan overseen by Catholic Schools Management and are on target with our goals and objectives.
If you are alumni, you are very important to us. The legacy you were a part of lives on and shows great promise for the future. Keep in touch so we can update your address and let you know our good news.
Kohls Cares: If you are on Facebook, please connect and vote for St. Justin Martyr Parish School to win a half million dollars! Kohls will present 20 schools with $500,000 each in their 10 million dollar project for education. All we have to do is get the most votes and you can vote for SJM up to 5 times! Cast your vote and ask everyone you know on Facebook to help us win. Thank you!! www.facebook.com/kohls
Sincerely in Christ,
Janet J. Balsis, Principal
