Welcome to Third Grade!

Third grade at Saint Justin Martyr School is both active and fun!  The students cover subjects from Native American tribes to multiplication throughout the year.  Annual projects include a science project on the "States of Matter," a unit on Anaheim history, and a resident expert project for English.  We celebrate diversity throughout the year and most especially at Christmas with a cultural day and Easter with a Seder meal.  Students build friendship and cooperation through group projects, and have a chance to utilize problem solving skills as well.  We also take great field trips to places such as the Discovery Science Center and the Anaheim Convention Center to reinforce social studies and science curriculum.

This is a year when students transition from dependence to independence and responsibility through academic and behavioral accountability.  Students are expected to complete daily assignments and long-term projects throughout the year.  It is also the first year students receive letter grades rather than N's, S's, and O's.  Third grade is a year full of growth and development.
