7^th Grade Spanish

This class meets for sixty minuets per week and does not meet the requirements for high school Spanish 1.  It is intended to provide students with an introduction to a foreign language.  Focus is on environmental and habitat vocabulary, as well as basic concepts such as the alphabet, colors, the days of the week, the months of the year, counting, and greetings.  Students progress to translating simple sentences using the dictionary.  Cultural aspects and traditions of the Spanish speaking world are also explored.
